Determination of novel protein interactors with EXT1 an EXT2.
Synopsis:
Hereditary multiple exostoses (HME), a dominantly inherited genetic disorder characterised by cartilaginous tumours, is mainly caused by mutations in the EXT1 or EXT2 genes.
In order to elucidate the mechanism of exostosis development and identify candidate genes for another disease locus, yeast two-hybrid analysis is being utilised, as it is a powerful method for identifying novel protein interactors with a protein of interest.
